The Splattermonkey Show! Episode # 28 Ska Ska Ska!!
July 16, 2009 11:34 PM PDT
These are some of the funkiest Rocksteady, Reggae and Ska songs in my collection. To me, nothing is more uplifting than Ska music. When it is infused with Soul and R&B it makes for the perfect summer party mix! Expect to hear a very young Bob Marley, some great Ska covers of everything from classic Motown to Radiohead and some super funky original tracks too. Check out my favorite Video Podcast, Art Stars T.V. at http://artstarstv.com/ Enjoy! Here is the track list... Artist / Song Title Bumps Jackson / Funky in Jamaica

1991 the year Punk Broke!! I'm feeling nostalgic about my High School Years. I know I'm really showing my age here but, when I was in High School the biggest band in the world was Nirvana. After I Graduated and started College the biggest band in the world was The Backstreet Boys. I think this just proves that my generation was probably a much cooler generation than all of those that came after. Here's the track list... Artist / Song Title Hayden / In September
There are tons of bands I wanted to include like Cypress Hill, Alice In Chains, Soundgarden, and A Tribe Called Quest but I like to keep this podcast short enough to fit on one C.D. See You Next Week! Splattermonkey. The Splattermonkey Show! Episode # 22June 05, 2009 08:45 PM PDT

Podcast SummaryThis is for all the people that have the patience and want to hear the whole song. I've got nothing against D.J.'s that slaughter you with different tracks every one and a half minutes and beat juggle the hell out of the tracks with double copies or Serato, but sometimes we just wanna hear the damn choone bredren! It's a goodun and you're a good selectah. Run it!
About SplattermonkeySplattermonkey is a D.J. and part time sound technician and sometimes remix artist who is obsessed with all things funky. Whether it's Hip Hop, House, Rock, Reggae, Ska, Jazz, Latin, Samba, Bossa, Jungle, Drum and Bass, or even Country it's gotta have elements of Funk and Soul or else he ain't interested. Deep Bass and Live Drum sounds is what he's all about. "There's something about that old boom cack of an old fashioned kick and snare drum, the deep resonating bass from a djembe, or the hollow pop of a Conga or Bongo drum that keeps me going back to those sounds. Don't get me wrong, I love electronic music, but most of my musical tastes came from my Mother who was a teenager in the 60's so I grew up in the 80's listening to the music of the 60's and 70's. It wasn't until Hip Hop finally leaked into the mainstream with tracks that sampled James Brown, The Honey Drippers, Bob James, Chic and Incredible Bongo Band that I started really listening to and collecting modern music. Before that the only modern music I bought was Metal and Hair Bands Like Metallica and Van Halen." Fans of this Show
